A little over a month ago, tobyMac turned heads again with yet another chart-topping album. Eye On It peaked at No. 1 on Billboard’s 200, marking the first album of Christian music to crown the list since 1997. Currently, it is resting comfortably in the top 20, according to the week of Sept. 29 report. It also made waves on the Christian Albums and Digital Albums charts, peaking at the No. 1 on both before swapping spots with Lecrae on Christian Albums, and sliding to 19 on Digital Albums.Ever humble and grateful, tobyMac said in a Billboard interview, “I’m thankful for the fans, because they’re loyal,” he said. “I always attribute that to, hopefully, I’m writing songs that are connecting with their lives.” He’s got that right: The popular Eye On It album has yielded his fifth Christian Songs No. 1 – the album’s first single “Me Without You.”Here’s a little history, too: TobyMac is no stranger to chart-topping hits. On the Christian Albums chart, “Eye” is tobyMac’s third leader.
