Hillsong To Release New Album, ‘No Other Name’

Interview with Hillsong by Cass LangtonWhat…you are releasing another worship album? Each July, Hillsong Church releases our annual worship album. This album is full of songs for the Church. Written out of the life of our own local church, these are the songs that our congregation sings – from Sydney to New York, Barcelona to London and Moscow to Cape Town. Across the language divides, cultural differences and musical preferences, we sing the same songs… Kingdom songs that declare the rule and reign of our God. Songs that seek to worship Him for who He is and to remind us again of His majesty, sovereignty and power. When we release this album, our aim is that you too would find songs that echo your heart’s cry and give words to express your reliance on and love of God. That you would sing them loud in your car, in your home, or in your shower. If you are a worship leader in a church, then we pray that these songs would encourage your church to worship, that they would bring life, faith and hope to your services.Time and again, the Bible reminds us to sing new songs to the Lord (Psalm 98:1, Psalm 96:1-13, Psalm 40:3, Psalm 33.1-22, Isaiah 42:10, Revelation 5:9, Psalm 144:9). One of our desires is that we would continue to find new ways of expressing ancient truths. That we would continue to give people a new song to sing, one that would mark seasons of life and create moments where you encounter God. Songs have special places in our hearts as they help define seasons of our lives. In weddings, at graveyards, on altar calls, in surrender – songs locate us and remind us of times when God has whispered to us.So this year, Hillsong Worship will present a new offering: An album called ‘NO OTHER NAME’. It is a declaration of the name of Jesus over everything in our culture and com- munity. The songs are simple and beautiful. They testify to who He is and what He is doing. They draw on our history as a people of faith as we sing songs written based on the Apostles’ Creed (This I Believe) and the Lord’s Prayer (Our Father). There are new songs about the wonder of the cross (Calvary). Powerful anthems like “Heaven and Earth” collide that declares ”by His stripes we are healed”, and ”Mountain” that speaks to the salvation plans for humanity. Intimate worship songs like ‘Depths’, ‘Broken Vessels’, and ‘Thank You Jesus’…We are so excited to share these songs with you!! To send them far and wide and watch amazed as God, in His grace, uses them to bring life and hope to a weary world, as only He can. For more information on Hillsong Worship including albums and tour dates, please visit hillsong.com/worship
