Congratulations to Billboard Music Award 2016 Winners!

The Billboard Music Awards 2016 have been announced and many artists promoted by Premier Productions swept the categories. Congratulations to Casting Crowns, Tasha Cobbs, Lauren Daigle, Marvin Sapp, Chris Tomlin, Hillsong United, Kirk Franklin, TobyMac, Johnathan McReynolds, Erica Campbell, and NEEDTOBREATHE for being nominated for awards in their respective genres.

Casting Crowns, Lauren Daigle, Hillsong United and Chris Tomlin were all nominated for top Christian artist and Hillsong United won this award. Lauren Daigle‘s album “How Can it Be” won top Christian album of the year, while nominees were TobyMac’s album “This Is Not A Test”, Hillsong United’s album “Empires” and Chris Tomlin’s album “Adore: Christmas Songs of Worship.” Hillsong United’s big hit song, “Oceans (Where Feet May Fall)” won the top Christian song award;  also their song “Touch the Sky” garnered a nomination. “Brother” by NEEDTOBREATHE and “Good Good Father” by Chris Tomlin were also nominated.

Tasha Cobbs and Marvin Sapp (who will be at our upcoming Joyfest music festival on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at Carowinds) were both nominees for top gospel artist. Kirk Franklin was named the winner for this award, he has also performed for Joyfest in the past. Kirk Franklin’s “Losing My Religion” also won the top album of the year award.  Tasha Cobbs’ “One Place Live”, Johnathan McReynolds’ “Life Music: Stage Two” and Marvin Sapp’s “You Shall Live” were top nominees in this category. Erica Campbell “I Luh God”, and Kirk Franklin “Wanna Be Happy” were nominees for top gospel song and Kirk Franklin was named the winner.
