The Winter Jam Report! #8

By February 28, 2012September 6th, 2022No Comments

– compiled by Shannon Habas, Media Relations Director Below is one story from speaker Nick Hall after Winter Jam – Cedar Park (Austin), TX:In Austin, TX two teenagers (siblings named Caleb and Sierra) were in a car accident on their way to WJ and both died instantly.  Their youth pastor came and told us the news at the event and later said that of all his students, both of them always said they would be willing to die so that others would know Jesus.  That night, much of their youth group came to the event and many recommitted themselves to Christ.  As I shared the tragedy of their death and the hope of the Gospel, 70% of the crowd responded to Jesus!!!  Following the event, Caleb and Sierra’s youth group met with many of us for a time of prayer and encouragement.  Over the following days, more than 30 students came to know Jesus through their group and the funeral was held on Sunday with over 600 filling their public high school auditorium.  Many gave their lives to Jesus at that event.  Now the students in the youth group are planning on coming to another Winter Jam event in TX just to minister to other teens in the parking lot and during the show!!!God is moving at Winter Jam every weekend! Here is the recap of what else God did! Thursday, February 23rdCedar Park, TX/ Cedar Park CenterAttendance: 2,179Decisions: 1,750. (Courtesy of Nick Hall):STORIES / TESTIMONIES / QUOTES:Each night, our PULSE team has stayed at our table until near closing as people line up to receive Gospels of John, prayer, or share their stories.  Here are a few testimonies from the weekend:If people want pictures and some more testimonies, I am trying to put a few up every night on my facebook page (http://www.nickhallpulse).  We also have many stories posted on our website (http://pulsemovement.com/blog/stories/)This week, I received this from a youth pastor who attended WJ last week:  “Nick, our church is on fire since Winter Jam.  I am a youth pastor at a small church after you spoke at WJ it impacted me. The past week we have had 7 kids come to Christ!”  Praise God that what we are seeing is only the beginning of God’s movement in each city!!!! As with previous WJ weekends, God moved in new ways that we had not seen before. In Austin, TX two teenagers (siblings named Caleb and Sierra) were in a car accident on their way to WJ and both died instantly. Now the students in the youth group are planning on coming to another Winter Jam event in TX just to minister to other teens in the parking lot and during the show!!!In Wichita, Tulsa and Tupelo, it seemed God was really drawing students to our table for prayer.  Two girls came up to me during the events and both confessed cutting and suicidal thoughts.  I was blessed to have my wife with me as we had a powerful time of prayer and encouragement with these two young ladies.  After hanging out backstage while the bands played, it was like the demeanor of the girls totally changed.  God was moving in their lives and many others! One student came and gave a band member a bullet he had been carrying with him as he’s considered suicide.  The band member just listened and prayed with him.  After their conversation, we both gathered together to pray and got his information plugged into our system for follow up.  Other students came to receive prayer for boldness to share their faith and overcome varying negative thoughts or addictions.  Let’s keep praying for God to set them free and use this army of students for his glory! Messages from Facebook & Twitter: Skylar: Nick…. I have to thank you for your words tonight. I have been struggling as a single dad and tonight the Spirit was renewed in me. Winter Jam was the place I needed to be tonight as I found forgiveness for my sins. Jon:  Nick – I rededicated my life tonight and stood up with the others. I grew up in church but have grown so far from Jesus it’s sick. Thanks for tonight and for being a powerful voice for God! Emily: I want to thank you and Winter Jam. I accepted Jesus into my life once again Saturday night. Natalie:  I cut myself daily and since I heard skillet and Nick Hall I went home prayed and I’m NEVER going to cut again I love my Lord Jesus! Jennifer: Your words opened my heart and eyes, because of you and every group that performed I rededicated my life. Thanks and God Bless! Brittany: Winter Jam taught me that I am not alone. Alexa: Last night in Tulsa, your words totally changed my life. Rebecka: Thank you for opening my eyes to God. Autumn: I went to my first Winter Jam when you guys came to Kansas City. I had lost all hope in almost everything, except music. I went to that concert lost, I came out found. Thank you for helping me see the light again. For the first time in many years I am happy and have accepted Jesus back into my heart. 🙂 Madison: I attended Winter Jam last night in Tupelo, MS. It was my first time to ever be at one and I loved every song that played. I cried my eyes out and just jammed out to the music and talked to God like I never have before!! I have had a terrible childhood growing up without a dad and my mom always working to make ends meet. I never had anyone to tell me about Jesus, but now I have found out about God and all my life could not be better. I am planning on getting baptized this year. Now that I see Gods light shinning upon me I hope to help to show Him to others. 🙂 Mkaya: I took one of my friends with me. Pretty much last minute it was like God told me to bring her. Before the show she told me about how she was loosing her faith in God because her family’s house was going to get repossessed because they have no money to pay rent. She also told me she was very depressed. I saw her the next day she was standing up tall and smiling! That night impacted me too because I was also loosing my faith in God. Winter Jam came just in time! Jason:  I’ve been working with our youth here in Arkansas for many years and ALWAYS make plans for Winter Jam! This year, one of the young men in our group texted me the Tuesday after the concert and said Winter Jam inspired him to want to get up earlier every day before school and spend more time in God’s Word and in prayer. Praise God! Blessings upon Winter Jam and the impact you guys are having!“These are the days of revival and we need to keep going!”On Mission,Nick Hall
