Premier Festivals Adds Big Screens to KingsFest, SpiritSong

By June 10, 2014No Comments

Do you want to see the sweat rolling down Mac Powell’s brow, the muscles flexing in Newsboys drummer Duncan Phillips’ arms or the bright blue of TobyMac’s eyes? Well, that’s the kind of high-definition view you’ll experience at KingsFest and SpiritSong music festivals later this month. Premier Festivals has contracted to install two giant modular LED screens that will sandwich the stages during the festivals. These are the kinds of screens audiences have become accustomed to seeing at huge arenas and sporting events, attracting hundreds of thousands of people. “This year Premier Festivals has decided to go BIG with Big Picture Productions, by adding LIVE video IMAG to SpiritSong and Kingsfest,” said Jeremiah LaCoille, event manager for Premier Festivals. “Complete with a 3-camera flight-pack and a director on-site, these 9’x16′ widescreen HD LED walls are sure to increase the experience of every ticket buyer.”The screens will be used to show live feeds of the concerts, video reels from artists during their concerts and music videos during breaks and set changes. There will be on-site professional camera operators capturing the best cameo moments on stage and adding a few crowd shots, as well.“We want everyone sitting in these amphitheaters to have a great view of the stage no matter where they are sitting,” said Richard Young, Premier Festivals Director of Operations. “It’s a way to enhance the concert experience for everyone, even if you are sitting on the back row.”The word “concert” doesn’t do justice to the sensory explosion that occurs when bands like Skillet, Lecrae, Newsboys, and TobyMac take the stage. Many artists are known for bringing their own widescreen panels to concerts. Premier Festivals will be providing two additional screens for the more than a dozen artists to utilize during these two popular 3-day music festivals. The big screens just add to the impact, Young said. Whether you prefer the high-energy, pulse-pounding performance of a hard rocker or the low-key, laid back style of a pop artist, you’ll feel as if you are practically on the stage, Young said.  Premier Festivals added the jumbo screens to the amphitheater at Carowinds amusement park for the JoyFest – Charlotte gospel festival earlier in May, and they will be added to KingsFest at Kings Dominion in Richmond, VA and SpiritSong at Kings Island, OH.“It’s kind of like giving everyone a front row seat, without any additional cost to the attendee,” Young said. About KingsFest: KingsFest is a 3-day festival at Kings Dominion amusement park in Richmond, VA from June 26-28.
