Family Force 5 Brings Bold Color, Music to Winter Jam!

By January 16, 2015No Comments

Is your winter getting a little drab? Want to liven it up a bit? Come to Winter Jam 2015 Tour Spectacular and try to top the outlandishly stylish attire of Family Force 5.

Just try. We dare you. The Atlanta-based brothers and friends who comprise FF5 (as it’s affectionately known) take the word “bold” to a new level – musically and aethestically.

“Family Force 5 should be as fun as possible,” said founding member Derek “Chap Stique” Mount. “…This band doesn’t need to be a version of anything else. We’ve got a lead singer that listens to nothing but Tevin Campbell, Zapp and R&B; a bass player who is as rock as they come; a keyboard player who loves new wave; a drummer who knows about every cool hipster band ever, and I’m a metalhead who’s into weird indie stuff. When you put all that together, it’s a bizarre stew with complex ingredients.”

It’s a combination that flavors every FF5 live concert and every recording on their latest “Time Stands Still” album featuring “BZRK” and “Jet Pack Kicks,” along with the all-time favorite “Chainsaw,” to name a few.

Rolling into the third week of its 13-week run, Winter Jam continues setting high marks. Last Sunday night, a new Florida city greeted Winter Jam with nearly 6,000 in attendance. The BB&T Center in the Fort Lauderdale area of Sunrise, FL offered a warm welcome to Winter Jam 2015 Tour Spectacular, capping off a successful second weekend on the tour.

On Friday night, Winter Jam buses pulled into in the familiar Jacksonville Veterans Memorial in Jacksonville, FL with a sellout crowd of 13,556 in attendance. On Saturday, 17,492 people jammed into Amalie Arena in Tampa for another sellout concert.
