Dude Perfect Raises Money for Charities During ‘Quarantine Classic’

What started as a way to pass the time and offer something fun to watch – two things that Dude Perfect do well, by the way – turned into a major fund-raiser for two great organizations.

Dude Perfect – the five chums who challenge each other to incredible feats and post them on YouTube – hosted the Dude Perfect Quarantine Challenge each week night last week. These live episodes included a 3 Point Shooutout on Monday, Roller Chair Hockey on Tuesday, Office Golf on Wednesday, 3 v 3 Soccer on Thursday and Spikeball on Friday. The prizes were great things like a tower or toilet paper, hand sanitizer and the finale prize of either a Seadoo water craft or a big bottle of hand soap.

“It’s an easy choice,” said Coby Cotton, one of the Dude Perfect twins during a pre-event interview. “I’m taking the hand soad 10 out of 10 times.”

Amassing more than 3 millions views each night, the challenges were taped live and played uncut on the DP YouTube channel. Monday’s show brought in 7.1 million and the numbers are still climbing.

Even more impressive than the 50 million followers on their social channels is the fact that the five friends asked their viewers to donate to the American Red Cross and Feeding America, an organization that is helping to feed school-aged children who are out of school across the nation. Their fans stepped up, giving more than $85,000 in one week.

Here’s how it all began:

“A free sandwich, a simple camera, and 20 “I can do better than you” shots later, Dude Perfect was born. Obviously when that first ball swished, we had no idea what we were getting ourselves into, but we believe that nothing happens by accident, that God’s given us this platform for a reason, and that we have an opportunity to make an impact on the lives of countless others all around the globe. Above all else, our ultimate goal is to glorify Jesus Christ in everything that we do. We want to use this platform for something much bigger than us.” – Dude Perfect

The group consists of twins Cory and Coby Cotton, Garrett Hilbert, Cody Jones, and Tyler Toney, all of whom are former college roommates at Texas A&M University. The members of the group hold many Guinness World Records.
