Likewise, the album’s title track has been the most downloaded Christian song since the film released, while God’s Not Dead-The Motion Picture Soundtrack continues to be a Top 10-selling general market soundtrack on iTunes.GOD’S NOT DEAD, shown on only 780 screens its debut weekend, outperformed virtually all movies on a per screen average basis and was sold out in many locations, prompting theaters to add additional show times and larger rooms. Grossing $9.2 million, the film was touted by Entertainment Weekly as the “biggest surprise” of the weekend and by Variety as the weekend’s “biggest shocker.Such early box office success in addition to extensive marketing for the movie and Newsboys’ massive visibility headlining the 2014 Winter Jam Spectacular Tour has helped to make Newsboys’ God’s Not Dead project the top-selling catalog album this year.
